Uinseann Donn Picture Book
Published in Ireland by Futa Fata
Description
Uinseann Donn is a cross old bear. He doesn't like birdsong. He doesn't like the rabbits dancing. All he wants is to curl up in bed and sleep the winter away. Just as his eyes are closing, he hears a sound that turns his whole world upside down. A funny, warm-hearted winter story about a grumpy bear with a soft heart, for ages 3 and up.
As Gaeilge
Uinseann Donn (IN-shun DOWN) is the bear's name: Uinseann is the Irish for Vincent, and donn means brown. The book opens simply, Béar cantalach é Uinseann Donn, "Uinseann Donn is a grumpy bear", and the pictures carry the story, so it reads well aloud whether or not Irish is spoken at home.
